Trainor Stone and Tile successfully completion its largest project to date at 20 Ropemaker Street, a landmark commercial development in central London and a significant addition to the city’s modern office landscape.
Spanning 360,000 ft² across 17 levels, the project involved the supply and installation of over 11,000 m² of porcelain floor tiling throughout the building. Works were delivered across a wide range of areas, including high-traffic office spaces, circulation zones, shower rooms and WCs. Porcelain was selected for its durability, low maintenance requirements and high-quality finish, ensuring a consistent standard across both functional and feature environments.
Reflecting on the achievement, Managing Director, Peter Trainor commented: “We are immensely proud of our team for delivering such a prestigious project to an exceptional standard and within a challenging timeframe. This is our largest project to date, and the team rose to the occasion brilliantly.”
A standout element of the project was the installation of two bespoke staircases, including a feature staircase running from the ground to first floor. This staircase was fully fabricated offsite before being transported and installed on site, a complex logistical operation that required detailed planning and precision execution to achieve the desired finish.
Delivering the project presented several challenges, particularly the need to coordinate works across multiple floors simultaneously within a demanding programme. Careful sequencing, clear communication and close collaboration with the wider project team were essential to maintaining progress and ensuring all deadlines were met without compromising on quality.
The project was led by Project Managers Steve Leach and Kevin O’Connor, whose oversight ensured consistency, efficiency and a high standard of workmanship throughout all phases of the installation.
